COOKEVILLE – ART Prowl’s annual “Bling Your Bike” event will be held from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Children of all ages are invited to decorate their bikes in creative and imaginable ways, and ART Prowl participants will provide all the “bling” supplies participants need to turn bikes or scooters into creatures, animals, or any other kind of beautiful artwork.

All participating children must bring their own bikes or scooters to the event. Local artists will be on site to help with the decorating, but parents are asked to stay and assist. ART Prowl is accepting donations of any creative supplies that could be used for decorating, such as boas, scarves, feathers, beads, spray paint, adhesives, and more. The event will be held at the downtown Green Market, located at the First Presbyterian church parking lot at the corner of Dixie Avenue and Broad Street in Cookeville.

This is a free event and an ART Prowl service that strives to promote awareness for the arts and for the annual ART Prowl, a two-day walkable art tour to be held Nov. 13-14. Children who participate are asked to parade their “blinged” bikes around the Cookeville square during the opening ceremony of WCTE’s Stations of Imagination at Fall FunFest, set for at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12.
