COOKEVILLE — Cenveo, a leader in the management and distribution of customized print and related offerings, has named Averitt Express as its 2014 Regional LTL Carrier of the Year. Cenveo is based in Stamford, Conn., and operates a label printing facility in Jefferson City.

The award – which is the first of its kind for Cenveo – was determined by on-time delivery percentage of shipments, damage ratio and feedback from Cenveo’s customers.

“When we looked at all our carriers, Averitt Express for the regional piece of our business was by far the best carrier that we had,” Mark Scates, Cenveo’s corporate director of logistics and transportation, said.

Scates added that Averitt’s professionalism set it apart.

“The carrier is an extension of the company,” he said. “I know that when I give a piece of freight to Averitt, it’s not only going to be handled correctly, but when it gets to my customer, Averitt is going to represent me in the best manner that they can. And that’s important.”

Phil Pierce, Averitt’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, looks forward to continuing a strong relationship of service with Cenveo.

“We’re grateful for the trust that Cenveo has shown us in providing solutions and helping it to achieve its goals,” Pierce said. “Our team prides itself on providing excellent service, and we look forward to continuing to show that commitment to Cenveo and to all of our customers.”
