CBI brings back ‘Make Camp’

Make Camp FlyerCROSSVILLE – Registrations are being accepted for the 3rd annual Make Camp, the Cumberland Business Incubator camp where those age 8 to 18 learn how to design and build projects for an entire week utilizing the equipment in the Maker Space.

Campers will learn how to use CAD and other design software, 3-D printers, electronics bench, laser engraver, CNC controller wood carver, complete woodshop of tools, sewing and embroidery machines and vinyl cutter. Area artists will bring their special projects to camp including forming copper wind chime making, silver wire wrapping of arrowheads that the campers will make themselves, sketching and gory movie scar make-up.

The camp runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 11-15. Team building activities will be included in the outdoor lunchtime.

Registration is limited to 16 campers. Volunteers will be on hand to help campers with their projects and to ensure all activities are safe, supervised and friendly. Video of prior year camps are available at https://vimeo.com/album/3494533.

Registration forms are available by calling the Cumberland Business Incubator office at (931) 456-4910. Early bird registration for camp is $125 until June 17 and $150 until June 27.

The Cumberland Business Incubator, Maker Space and Make Camp are located at 2569 Cook Road in Crossville, on the Roane State Community College campus.
