COOKEVILLE – Urologist Kelly McAlvany, D.O., has joined the staff at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She will be working with fellow urologists Dr. Lee Moore and Dr. Quinton Cancel at Upper Cumberland Urology Associates located at 320 N. Oak Ave.

McAlvany received her medical degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She performed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. She has recently completed a fellowship in genitourinary trauma and reconstruction (GURS) at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. She has also served as an instructor in urology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. During her education, she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Medicine Honors Fraternity and the Academics Honor Society.

McAlvany has a special interest in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery with a focus on improving and restoring sexual function through prolapse repair; sling and sphincter procedures for incontinence; Peyronie’s disease; erectile dysfunction; and urethral stricture disease.
