Crossville leaders to hold January economic development forum

CUMBERLAND COUNTY – The Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce and the Cumberland County Joint Economic and Community Development Board will hold an economic development forum Monday, Jan. 12.

The forum is designed to provide information and to work toward a community-wide economic development strategy. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. at Crossville City Hall, Conference Room 424.

Among the topics to be addressed, “Tools for economic development,” by Pete Ezell, and “Support for local development programs” by Millie Callaway with TVA and Rebecca Smith, regional director, Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development.

A local development panel will also address “Implementing the cooperative agreement” (Brad Allamong, Crossville chamber); tourism/retiree recruitment (Ashley DeRossett, Crossville chamber); and retail development/marketing (Billy Loggins, marketing/public relations, City of Crossville).

Additionally, County Mayor Kenneth Carey and newly elected City of Crossville Mayor James Mayberry will provide opening remarks on “A New Day for Cooperation.” Holly Hanson, director, will talk about happenings at the Cumberland Business Incubator (CBI).
