CROSSVILLE – Cathy Howe is now serving as executive director for Life Care Center of Crossville.

Howe replaces Ellen Metcalf, who has served as the executive director for more than four years. Metcalf recently accepted a ministry opportunity in Chattanooga. Under Metcalf’s leadership, Life Care Center of Crossville began classes for certified nursing assistants, completed a renovation, earned accreditation from The Joint Commission and won a bronze award from the American Health Care Association. The building also won several awards from parent company Life Care Centers of America during that time, including the gold award for workplace safety, the regional CNA of the year award and a regional business development award.

Howe comes to the Crossville center from Life Care Center of Sparta, where she served as executive director. Prior to that appointment, she was executive director of Life Care Center of Waynesville, Missouri. She has been involved in long-term care since she started volunteering at age 13.

“I am so excited about joining the team at Crossville,” Howe said in a release. “I am really looking forward to getting to know each of the associates personally and working together for our residents.”

Originally from Johnson City, Howe earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She currently resides in Cookeville with her husband, Robert and their daughter, Amariah.

Life Care Center of Crossville, located at 80 Justice St., is one of 24 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities in Tennessee managed or operated by Life Care Centers of America.
