J. Cumby Construction begins work on Waverly wastewater treatment plant

COOKEVILLE – J. Cumby Construction has been selected by the City of Waverly to upgrade its wastewater treatment plant as part of a Community Development Block Grant.

The Cookeville-based contractor was chosen after completing recent water treatment and wastewater projects in Gallatin, Sparta, Cookeville and Livingston. The Waverly project consists of a 12-foot diameter precast sewer pump station with three influent pumps, a poured-in-place concrete influent headworks structure with screens, and associated yard piping and electrical work.

“It’s an honor to partner with Waverly public works and city officials to make improvements to the wastewater treatment plant,” said Justin Cumby, president of J. Cumby Construction. “We have a proven track record for executing these types of projects on time and on budget. Plus, our team has extensive experience in completing Community Development Block Grant programs to enhance our region’s communities.”

Construction is expected to be completed in the middle of January 2015.
