COOKEVILLE – Construction is underway at Tennessee Heart, a cardiovascular physicians' practice in Cookeville. Regional contractor J. Cumby Construction has been selected to expand the lower floor of the West Fourth Street building in the city's medical district.
The 2,500-square-foot expansion will add more exam rooms to the growing practice. Part of the project involves excavating dirt and stone from the existing slab to install new plumbing. Working in tight space, the contractor used small equipment and a customized conveyor system to remove the debris.
“As Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland area continue to grow, the need for specialized health care grows as well,” said Justin Cumby, president of J. Cumby Construction. “Physicians like the doctors at Tennessee Heart are filling that need by adding space to accommodate their growing patient base. We're honored that Tennessee Heart chose us for this expansion project, and we hope this will allow more of our neighbors in the region to receive high-quality care right here at home.”
J. Cumby Construction is building out the lower floor and overseeing the entire project. The Tennessee Heart expansion is scheduled to be complete by the end of August.
