COOKEVILLE – A physicians group at Cookeville Regional Medical Center is undergoing a name change.
For several years, the group of approximately 50 physicians employed by Cookeville Regional Medical Center has been known as the Physician Associates of Cookeville Regional. That group is now known as the Cookeville Regional Medical Group (CRMG).
The name change is a natural progression as CRMC expands services and grows into other communities, officials said.
“We changed the name to Cookeville Regional Medical Group as it more concisely reflects the group’s affiliation with our hospital,” said Dr. Menachem Langer, CEO of CRMC. “While we have over 200 physicians on staff at Cookeville Regional, we have more than 50 who have chosen to be employed by the medical center. These employed physicians make up the Cookeville Regional Medical Group.
“Physicians now have options for the way they practice medicine – whether they set up their own practice or choose to become employed by another organization to handle the business end of practice for them like we do through the Cookeville Regional Medical Group,” Langer added.
The name change will not affect patients or patient care, officials said. Patients will, however, notice the name change on signage and correspondence from their physicians in the group. All phone numbers for physicians in the group will remain the same.
Cookeville Regional Medical Group is a multi-specialty physician group consisting of primary care and specialty physicians with six office locations in Cookeville. For more information, visit www.crmchealth.org.
